WAILEA BEACH RESORT

The Renaissance Wailea Beach Resort is a destination resort hotel at Wailea, Maui. The site covers 26 acres with about 1,000 feet of white sand beach frontage. The one to seven-story four-wing complex contains 350 guest units, conference facilities, terrace coffee shop, theme dining room, terrace bar, theme bar, main lobby, shopping arcade, poolside snack bar and poolside bar.

CDS was responsible for the 1990 major upgrade and refurbishment program as well as the original design. The entire facility—except the ballroom—was renovated, with the work being done in phases so that the property could remain open and operational. The Wailea Beach, originally designed for and operated by the Western Hotels International chain, opened in 1978. It is the second of four major international hotels built at the award winning Wailea planned development resort on the island of Maui.
